The SDP Alliance wins award from the Irish Software Association |
|
The success of the Service Delivery Platform Alliance (SDPA), a collaborative business network supported by cross-border business body InterTradeIreland, has been recognised at the Irish Software Association Awards.
The Special Recognition award saluted the work of the alliance, in which companies North and South co-operate to jointly market themselves, creating a significant presence before major international customers.
Mike Brady, CEO of Cibenix, accepted the award on behalf of the SDPA, which also includes Mobile Cohesion and Aepona from Northern Ireland, and Xiam, Changing Worlds and Openet Telecom from the Republic of Ireland.
Liam Nellis, chief executive of InterTradeIreland said: "Networks help firms to achieve critical mass and economies of scale and compete in larger, more diverse and more competitive markets than they could if they were to continue to act alone.
"By concentrating on core competencies and creating a network of specialized suppliers and partners, firms can develop their unique assets, stay flexible and adaptable and at the same time be able to respond to the demands of the global market."
Stephen Sloan, InterTradeIreland's All-Island Software Network facilitator, said the SDPA had achieved notable success by being identified as a preferred partner with Nokia Siemens Network, demonstrating that Nokia recognized the potential value of the solution offered to their own customers and clearly enhancing the island's reputation on the international stage as well as the mobile telecoms sector.
"The development of Service Delivery Platforms, which provide an end-to-end network solution for mobile operators, is acknowledged internationally as the next step in managing services more efficiently and cost effectively to end users," he said. "The SDPA are a tremendous example of how the collaboration of individual expertise can produce a product which stands head and shoulders above anything else the world can offer."
The All-Island Software Network aims to enhance the competitiveness of companies in the software development industry on the island of Ireland by achieving increased collaborations between companies North and South. |
